PEI Invites 113 Candidates in Recent Draw

Prince Edward Island (PEI) held a draw on June 17, 2021, issuing a total of 113 invitations to candidates through their Express Entry, PEI Labour, and Business Work Permit Entrepreneur Streams.

Business Work Permit Entrepreneur

  • Number of invitations issued: 12
  • Minimum point threshold for Business Invitations: 60

PEI Labour and Express Entry

  • Number of invitations issued: 101

Express Entry

To submit an Expression of Interest to PEI’s Express Entry stream, one must first be eligible to submit a federal Express Entry profile. Anyone with an active Express Entry profile is eligible to submit an Expression of Interest to this. However, Prince Edward Island has indicated that they prioritize candidates with previous ties to the province.

Labour Impact

PEI’s Labour Impact Category offers three streams: PEI Skilled Worker, PEI Critical Worker, and PEI International Graduate. These streams require an eligible job offer in the province in addition to meeting other minimum language, education, and previous work experience requirements

Business Work Permit Entrepreneur

To qualify for nomination under the Work Permit stream one must:

  • Demonstrate a net worth of at least $600,000 CAD;
  • Have completed at least a high school diploma;
  • Be within ages 21-59 years old at the time the application is submitted;
  • Have proven management skills or business ownership experience;
  • Score at least a Canadian Language Benchmark 4 on a designated French or English language exam; and
  • Demonstrate intention to live in PEI and manage the day-to-day operations of your PEI-based company
