Post-Graduation Work Permit Update for International Graduates Outside of Canada
IRCC recently implemented a temporary post-graduation work permit policy for students graduating outside of Canada due to COVID-19.
With talk of borders soon to be reopened, universities and colleges in Canada are looking forward to welcoming international students on their campuses once again.
As much as permanent residency applications were affected due to travel restrictions, international students were particularly affected.
Canada’s Immigration Minister offered a little sliver of hope to international graduates who missed out on applying to the public policy targeting international graduates.
After the much-anticipated opening of the Temporary Resident to Permanent Resident Pathway on the 6th May 2021, the stream targeting recent international graduates from a Canadian institution closed at 1.04 pm on May 7th, 2021.
Reinstating Canada’s value for international graduates, a new temporary public policy has been put into place for international graduates in Canada to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
