What is different about this draw?
While Canadian Experience Class draws have generally been occurring every two weeks, the recent May 20th draw was held just one week after the previous CEC draw sent invitations to 4,147 candidates.
This round of invitations also saw the second lowest Canadian Experience Class CRS cut-off ever targeted, second only to the historic February 13th draw, which had targeted every Canadian Experience Class candidate in the Express Entry pool.
As a reaction to the pandemic and travel restrictions put in place from March 2020, the IRCC began targeting the Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominees to reduce movement across the border. Due to the smaller pool of candidates, this has resulted in unprecedented draws, allowing qualifying candidates who may have not have otherwise received an invitation to apply for permanent residence, a stronger chance than ever before.
