Alberta’s Express Entry Stream Invites 148 Candidates in Latest Draw

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) has issued 148 invitations to candidates in the Express Entry pool in their most recent draw. The CRS score of the lowest ranking candidate was 302.

Applicants that receive an invitation to apply for nomination must submit a full application to Alberta. The documentation and application submitted should sufficiently demonstrate all information claimed on one’s Express Entry profile. Successful nominees will receive an additional 600 points toward their Express Entry profile. As a result, the candidate is essentially guaranteed an invitation to apply for permanent residency.

How can I be eligible for Alberta’s Express Entry draws?

Alberta’s Express Entry stream invites candidates directly from the Express Entry pool and therefore requires that candidates have an active Express Entry profile; the profile must also indicate their interest in immigrating to Alberta. Alberta does not select candidates with a CRS score below 300.

Alberta’s Express Entry stream does not release additional details of their draws, but have identified that the following factors may increase a candidate’s chances:

  • Working in an occupation that supports Alberta’s economic development and diversification
  • A qualifying relative that is a permanent resident or citizen living in Alberta
  • A job offer or work experience in Alberta
  • Graduated from a Canadian post-secondary institution
