PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM DRAW | ONTARIO ISSUES 1600 INVITATIONS IN JUNE

OINP Draws June

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued three rounds of invitations in June, with a total of 1600 invitations sent. Applicants who receive an invitation to Ontario, they must complete an application to OINP and if successful, the candidate will be awarded an additional 600 CRS points to their Express Entry application, all but guaranteeing they will be invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence at the next Express Entry draw.

What is unusual about OINP’s draws in the month of June is that the Human Capital Priorities Stream usually sends the most invitations. However, the Skilled Trades Stream issued the majority of invitations for June. This could be a sign that skilled trades applicants might be viewed as essential to restart the Ontario economy as it gradually relaxes the COVID-19 related restrictions as the province reopens.
