OINP Invites 940 Candidates in Largest Employer Job Offer Draws

In the two largest draws since Ontario implemented the Expression of Interest system, the province has invited a total of 940 candidates through the International Student and Foreign Worker employer job offer streams.

June 16th OINP draw results: 940 invitations

Both the International Student and Foreign Worker Employer Job Offer streams saw the highest number of invitations issued since the draws began.

Foreign Worker stream:

Today’s round of invitations saw the first “General Draw” for the Foreign Worker stream since the implementation of the Expression of Interest system. Previously, the draws for this stream had targeted Regional Immigration Pilot candidates.

  • Number of invitations issued: 569
  • Lowest score selected: 38

International Student stream:

The International Student stream saw the lowest targeted score in this draw since the Expression of Interest system started.

  • Number of invitations issued: 371
  • Lowest score selected: 66

How is the OINP score determined?

Ontario’s Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) ranks candidates on various applicant and job offer factors, including:

  • The skill type and NOC type of the job offer (excludes Masters Graduate or PhD Graduate streams);
  • How much the job offer pays annually (excludes Masters Graduate or PhD Graduate streams);
  • Number of years of Canadian work experience;
  • The skill type of the Canadian work experience;
  • The annual salary of past Canadian work experience;
  • Highest level of education (only considered for International Student Stream);
  • Field of study (excludes Foreign Worker or In-Demand Skills streams);
  • Canadian education experience (excludes Foreign Worker or In-Demand Skills streams);
  • Official language ability (excludes Foreign Worker or In-Demand Skills streams);
  • Location of job offer (excludes Masters Graduate or PhD Graduate streams);
  • Location of study (excludes Foreign Worker or In-Demand Skills streams)

OINP may also add an additional 10 points to a candidate’s score to address labour market needs as required.

How can I be eligible to submit an Expression of Interest to OINP?

The only two OINP streams currently accepting Expressions of Interest (EOI) are the Employer Job Offer: International Student and Foreign Worker streams. The Employer Job Offer: In Demand Skills stream, and the Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate streams are expected to also eventually open under the OINP Expression of Interest System.

To be eligible for the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream, candidates must have a qualifying job offer in Ontario. The job offer, the applicant, and the employer must meet certain requirements before the candidate can submit an EOI.

The Employer Job Offer: International Student stream also requires for applicants to meet certain job offer, applicant, and employer requirements. Those wishing to apply under this stream must have also completed a qualifying education credential at an eligible Canadian college or University.
