EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW #191 | Canada Holds Largest Ever PNP Specific Draw

On June 9th, 2021, Canada invited 940 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates to apply for permanent residence through the Express Entry system. This is the highest number of invitations issued in a draw specific to Provincial Nominees. The previous PNP specific draw on May 26th invited 500 candidates. This spike on PNP candidates in the pool shows a high volume of nominations issued in the past week and a half. As Federal Skilled Worker program draws are at a standstill, provinces may be turning to nominee programs to bring over skilled workers and fill labour market gaps.

Each province operates their nominee programs differently. The additional points essentially guarantee that an invitation to apply for permanent residence. The CRS cut-off for this draw 711; this means the lowest ranking candidate had a CRS score of just 111 prior to receiving a provincial nomination.
