What it a Tech Pilot Draw?

Every 2 weeks, the province of British Columbia selects applicants from within their own BC Express Entry pool who have a valid job offer (at least 12 months in duration) from an employer based in British Columbia in one of the following occupations:

How to Tech draws differ from regular BC draws?

Tech draws differ from regular BC PNP draws in 2 ways:

1. The minimum cut off score is always 80. In other draws, the minimum cut off score varies depending on the merits of all the applicants in the pool. The advantage of having a fixed minimum cut off is that the applicant can say with confidence on submission of their application, whether they will receive an invitation. When the minimum cut off constantly changes, this is not as clear;

2. The Tech Pilot Draw selects only applicants whose BC job offer falls within certain occupations. A regular BC draw is not concerned with the occupation of the job offer however they do exclude a limited number of occupations from their draws.
